RiverPlex Recreation and Wellness Center

The RiverPlex is a 118,000 square foot multi-purpose community/recreation/athletic facility complete with a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor aquatic park, multi-purpose area, pro shop, activity room and classrooms. The facility also houses a wellness center, demonstration kitchen, medical/rehabilitative offices, and associated support spaces. Facility of Merit Award, Athletic Business – December 2003

Building the RecPlex was a challenge from day one. The location was very unique with the Illinois River to the East and railroad tracks to the West. There were also numerous obstacles, the most prominent being a railroad car that crews unearthed deep under the site. Crews also overcame Peoria’s third most severe winter in 110 years to finish the job on time.

Bonnie Noble“River City performed above and beyond our expectations. This project had many obstacles and would never been completed without River City Construction. I feel that strongly about it.”
