Surgery Services and Bed Addition, Advocate Eureka Hospital

Eureka, IL

Project Summary

The Advocate (now Carle) Eureka Hospital 33,000 SF Surgical Suite and Bed Tower addition expanded the existing hospital’s surgical capacity, renovated their existing emergency department, and added patient rooms. The building addition was designed to allow for future emergency department expansion into the main level, as well as an MRI suite. Smaller renovations within their existing hospital were added to the project as the addition neared completion because of the successful delivery under budget. The project was split into multiple phases (site, building addition, and renovations) to accommodate ongoing hospital operations.

“Throughout every step I was always impressed with the value River City provided to Advocate Health Care. I found your commitment to total customer service to be absolutely amazing.”

“One thing we decided to implement for this project was collision detection and coordination drawings utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM). Your design group enthusiastically met this challenge and collaborated with our trade partners to deliver incredibly detailed coordination drawings that saved countless hours of field and engineering time to resolve conflicts. This also provided a higher quality product from an mechanical, electrical, and plumbing perspective, in my opinion. It was refreshing to engage a contractor that embraced this technology in the central Illinois market and that knew the means in which to apply it.”

– Tim Bassett, (former Director of Facilities, Advocate BroMenn)
