Project Summary

The new treatment center spans 161,000 SF, complemented by a 20,000 SF administration building and a 10,000 SF central utility plant. Designed to provide specialized care, the facility accommodates 150 psychiatric patients and 50 general medical care patients under the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). These two populations reside in separate units within a unified IDOC campus, with male and female patients housed in distinct living areas—each unit capped at 24 residents. Prioritizing well-being and sustainability, the facility maximizes natural daylight and incorporates a range of energy-efficient design features.
