The McLean County Law & Justice Center 80,000 SF expansion primarily aimed to enhance care for detainees with mental health needs. The updated facility now includes dedicated mental health units, improved classification within the general population, and optimized inmate management across genders. Additionally, the expansion supports best practices in staff-inmate communication and proactive management strategies.
Before the 2019 expansion, River City Construction had completed a 160,000 SF addition to the courthouse and jail, along with a parking deck accommodating 436 vehicles.
