Benton Hall Renovation, University of Missouri-St. Louis

St. Louis, MO

Benton Hall

Project Summary

Originally constructed in 1964 as the University of Missouri–St. Louis’ first science building, Benton Hall was among the earliest structures on campus. However, its existing conditions no longer met modern building codes, accessibility requirements, or contemporary teaching standards.

The renovation transformed Benton Hall into a state-of-the-art academic facility, featuring flexible lecture halls and classrooms of varying capacities, seminar rooms, study areas, collaborative spaces, and other student-focused environments. Additionally, the building’s core and shell were upgraded, and all internal mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems were replaced with advanced solutions to enhance life safety and overall comfort.
