Clinical Support and Education Building, University of Missouri – University Hospital

Columbia, Missouri

MU Clinical

Project Summary

The Clinical Support and Education Building is a seven-story expansion of the University of Missouri Teaching Hospital, designed to support both the School of Medicine and UM Health Care. Constructed at the heart of an active hospital campus, the project required meticulous planning and complex logistics to ensure daily hospital operations remained uninterrupted. The facility features state-of-the-art teaching labs, clinical areas, and office spaces dedicated to the School of Medicine.

“The major aspects of this project that were different from most others that I have coordinated were the level of communication and the attention to the needs of the customer. You and your staff, especially Kevin and ‘Spanky,’ were always available and willing to listen to our requests, often going above and beyond what one might expect. We were especially pleased with the work of River City in the construction of our Clinical Simulation Center that was very different from the rest of the building. The challenges presented by this area were handled with skill resulting in a facility that we are especially proud of.”

– Kenneth Hammann, Associate Dean for Administration and Finance
