Caterpillar Visitor Center

This project consists of a 3-story, 50,000 square foot structural steel building enclosed with a metal roof and siding as well as an aluminum curtain wall system. The Visitor Center is designed to celebrate Caterpillar’s heritage, products and services while showcasing the work their customers do every day around the world which makes sustainable progress possible. The building will be LEED Gold level certified. Some sustainable efforts included collecting and reusing rain water for irrigation; using energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems; utilizing solar panels on the adjacent Caterpillar parking deck to supply power to the Visitor Center; and developing a combined heat and power system that will supply power to the Visitor Center as well as the Caterpillar World Headquarters building.
