Library & Administration Building, Illinois Central College

Originally constructed in 1974, the Library/Administration Building is a six-story, 127,378 SF facility featuring a concrete structural frame and brick masonry exterior. The south entry level (second floor) serves as a vital hub, housing administrative offices, a campus bookstore, and other essential spaces that contribute to faculty and student success.

This renovation project includes a new two-story 1,600 SF entry addition and 12,500 SF extensive upgrades throughout various departmental areas. Scope of work encompasses site improvements and modernization of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems to support both the new addition and existing spaces. Additional enhancements include renovated toilet rooms, refreshed interior finishes, and improved wayfinding for a more accessible and welcoming environment.

To maintain continuity of operations, the building will remain occupied during construction, with limited access only in areas directly affected by renovation activities.
