The New Fulton State Hospital is a 300-bed, high-security psychiatric healthcare facility. As a multiphase project, River City Construction was awarded both phases: the construction of a new energy center and a new psychiatric health facility. Altogether, the project includes 487,000 square feet of new space within the campus, featuring six patient wings, an administration building, an energy center, and a common connector core. The project presented significant coordination challenges across all trades, requiring extensive use of BIM technology, particularly for MEP building systems, as well as security and access control systems.
