The project involved the construction of a 93,754 SF three-story facility designed to accommodate both residential and academic functions. The River Campus expansion introduced a music hall, practice and rehearsal rooms, a dance studio, and a directing/acting studio to enhance artistic and performance education.
The first floor features a dining area with seating for approximately 120 people, while the mezzanine level includes an art classroom. The second floor houses 13 faculty offices along with student rooms, lounges, practice spaces, and a fitness center. The third floor provides additional student rooms and lounges, bringing the total residential capacity to 184 beds. Additionally, the project included the development of a 125-space parking lot to support campus accessibility.
“The Staff at Southeast Missouri State University agree that Phil Kingdon and Kip Loveall are exemplary individuals to work with. The River Campus Center was completed on time. We had very difficult budget constraints and with River City’s assistance; we were able to proceed with value engineering Ideas that did not compromise quality. River City has been a “team player” with our staff and with our consultants and representatives. We appreciate the work that River City has performed for us to date and look forward to working with them if future opportunities present themselves.”
